Starr Muranko is a professional dancer/ choreographer/ educator and Co-Founder of This Moment Events. She is committed to creating inspiring opportunities that bring together people of all generations in celebration of culture, artistic expression and spiritual growth.
As a professional artist she has been passionately training and performing throughout the Lower Mainland, San Francisco, West Africa and as far away as the Andes of Peru! She holds a BFA in Dance from SimonFraserUniversity’s School for the Contemporary Arts and has been featured as a guest artist and speaker at the Beyond the Global Divide International Youth Summit in Holland. She is committed to supporting Indigenous people and the conservation of their cultures through dance, music and story-telling and honours her mixed heritage of Metis, Cree and German in all of her work.
As former Director for the Foundation for Spiritual Democracy in San Francisco, CA Starr was instrumental in facilitating youth leadership through the International Youth Leadership Council and was selected to represent Canada at the State of the World Forum in New York City (2000). She has played a lead role in organizing international conferences throughout North America including the inspring Women of Vision and Passion Leadership Retreat 2007 and the successful Leading Spas of Canada Annual Conferences 2003-2006.
Sara Kinakin a storyteller, and Co-Founder of This Moment Events has dedicated herself to the development of healthy communities through the empowerrment of its youth for over 20 years. She is credited with being a moving public speaker in the realm of community development and youth empowerment. The breadth and depth of her talks are enhanced by her unique life experience and gifts of inspiration. Currently Sara is completing her sociology degree.
She is also the founder of Breath Youth Mentoring, an organization that through custom developed, innovative youth leadership programs, connects young people to their communities and a means of bringing their dreams to fruition.
As an interpreter of the
Russian language, she has interpreted and translated for vaious groups
and organizations. Some highlights are; Immigration at the Australian Embassy, in Moscow (1990 -1994); the 8th International Conference on Conflict Resolution, in St. Petersburg (2000), and a research project for Women Waging Peace (2000) at Harvard.
Sara
has worked both internationally, with youth leadership councils and
locally within her own Doukhobor community. She is passionate persona
who is a catalyst for individuals opening to infinite possibilities.
Sara acknowledges and honors her Doukhobor heritage as a source of
inspiration for her life’s work.
